Dream Weaving is an art retreat that weaves storytelling with fibers, painted papers and fabrics. We will use weaving as a way of processing the peaks and valleys of our lives, and find the common threads of our life woven throughout. Based on our stories, we will create a weaving that symbolizes not only our life, but how beloved we are and always have been by the God who created us.
An optional part of the retreat is to speak our stories, in a safe, nonjudgmental space, sharing only what we choose to tell. Maybe just a little, or maybe just an overall theme that emerges. The stories will flow from our weaving.
We will learn several weaving techniques for a variety of patterns in our artwork, using fibers, fabric, ribbon, charms and other memorabilia:

Note: An optional take-away from this retreat is Map 2 & 3 from the Listen to My Life process, which is a biblically-based series of visual maps designed to help you recognize and respond to God in your story. The booklets are Biblically-based and an optional reflection tool afterward. These references are only suggestive and the entire process of this retreat is reflective and open to your own faith and interpretation.
