Golden Acrylics A to Z:  FREE Lecture/Demo

Golden Working Artists have been presenting this fun, informative Lecture Demonstration for more than two decades.  Jam packed with science and art, Kathryn will be providing fundamental information about Golden Acrylics, Williamsburg Oil and QoR Watercolor.  Learn about the products and a variety of application possibilities.  We'll discuss color theory, pigment reality and get inspired by Iridescent and Interference colors.  And you'll get a guided tour of your local art supply store shelves.  Just what are all those gels for and how are they different?  With some hands-on samples and finished technique examples, you'll be sure to discover something new for your painting.  Great handouts and generous product samples are a fun freebie for attending!

Bring your own foldable or camp chair.  Standing room will also be available.  Please register so that we can plan some product samples for you.

Presenter Bio:

Kathryn Elliott Duncan has been involved with art materials for more than 20 years.  As a "materials geek" she has been interested in the creation of and inspiration from art, craft and fabric media.  Graduating with a BFA in Painting and Printmaking, she went on to work as a buyer and product developer in art materials.  She has become well versed in Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Encaustic, Gouache, Egg Tempura, Drawing Media, intaglio, Monoprinting, Etching, Sewing, Beading, Weaving and Dying, both as a user and an educator.   To Kathryn, the most thrilling part of working with materials is drawing on this knowledge to "solve" artists' dilemmas when trying to create a specific effect.  In 2011, she started Art Workout, a company devoted to art education and inspiration for artists of all ages and experience levels.  A recent inductee to the Golden Working Artist Program, Kathryn looks forward to many years developing an array of acrylic techniques to keep pace with the amazing body of information and product depth available at Golden.
