(Please reserve your last half hour for returning supplies to their places and cleaning up your space.) Aside from our scheduled class and events, this is the only time we are open to the public for you to just PLAY and CREATE using our HUGE COLLECTION of STUDIO SUPPLIES!
ALL are welcome . . . even if (and especially if!) you do not think you are creative. What a great way to begin! This is not a structured workshop, but we have lots of ideas to get you started, and one of our creative ARTtenders will always be there to answer questions. Young children who need more assistance should be accompanied by a paying adult who can create with them.
Bring your own project or try one of the activities below:

* Experiment with acrylic paint “shots” and gel mediums
* Express yourself with an EASY painting process we ALL can do (we'll help you!)
* Explore through bins of papers, stamps and collage materials
* De-stress with Zentangle, drawing simple, repetitive patterns
* Journal with our ARTstarters monthly calendar of creative exercises
If this is your first time at Open Studio or you would just like extra time to get settled, we invite you to arrive 15 minutes EARLY at no extra charge so we can show you around and demo any supplies you would like to learn about.

Acrylic Painting
Add acrylic to your studio project: just $1 per "paint shot"; additional fee for canvas or bring your own). Or choose to sit up at the Paint Bar and use your $19 toward one of the following paint packages:
$19, includes 4"x4" gallery-wrapped canvas and 3 paint shots
$19, includes 4"x4" gallery-wrapped canvas and Pouring Medium/Beads
$39 "Painting Made Easy" package: includes studio admission, large 18x24” canvas, plus all-you-can-use-paint! We’ll be there throughout the studio time for step-by-step guidance and demos, color mixing techniques, and to help you personally as you create your own masterpiece.
jOuRnAl pLaY!
Each session, we have a new creative exercise for you to do in your journal, as well as questions designed to help you think about your life and move forward. You may want to take these simple exercises in your own direction by using the playful supplies around you! As a bonus, you’ll also receive our monthly ARTstarter calendar filled with additional journaling exercises to keep you creating all month long. For more journal play, come to our ARTstarters community share on the 1st Saturday morning of each month, designed to help you “bring creativity to life!”
Stamp Art/Memory Albums
Get ideas from our sample of the month. In additions to hundreds of rubber stamps, inkpads and papers, we'll set out specific stamps, supplies, and instructions to make a special project each month. It’s a great way to learn new techniques or layouts and then use them to create your own unique greeting cards and designs!
Zendala Play
Learn a new Zentangle pattern using a black pen and repetitive patterns that are easy to learn. Anyone can complete the Zendala of the month using our simple instructions! Enhance it or create your own version with studio supplies such as watercolors, color pencils or stamps.
Decoupage (additional fee for item to decoupage or bring your own)
Use our beautiful, imported French tissue papers to cover a box, torso, picture frame and more! Just purchase the item you wish to glue them to (starting at $1.99), or bring one of your own. Includes 1 shot of decoupage glue at no additional charge. Mix in assorted papers, novel pages, sheet music, magazine images, and other interesting papers available in our studio. All papers included!
“Happy Hour” ART Share at the BAR: last half hour of Studio Time
Sharewhat you created during Open Studio, Everyone Paint or whatever project you chose to work on. In exchange, receive encouragement and inspiration!
