The ARTbar's favorite and coolest art process includes a variety of techniques using scraping backgrounds (no paintbrushes), torn images and papers, stencils, glazing, sanding, paint pens, foiling, and acrylic gels for texture (such as molding paste, pumice, fiber paste or bead gel, assortment may vary.) Artists are encouraged to work fast to access their creativity without judgment as they are walked through a 5 step process before the alarm goes off and the “police come.” Note: we do not use spray paints due to ventilation and safety. Includes a custom-made word stencil from our commercial stencil machine to use and take home .
We suggest you journal prior to class around a theme or motto that describes a strengths of yours: for example, determination, courage, love, spirituality, change, re-invention, learning, forgiveness, etc. Then when you come to create, you can have a focal theme for your artwork!
